Supplier Recovery Support
The Challenge
To overcome the suppliers biggest challenge to build a bank of parts, AMBE’s resources monitored output
to verify quality and quantity of parts produced by the transferred equipment.
AMBE worked with materials team to track stamping and resins to ensure there was enough in-transit and
in-house to stabilize production. AMBE supported the quality of product to ensure the product met
specifications dimensionally. We embedded with the Tier 1 team to ensure there were enough parts, no
quality spills, met production and minimized downtime issues.
There were two critical aspects that influenced the success of this project:
1. Gaining trust by submitting offers to retain key employees and motivating shop floor staff despite
impending shut down – As a motivating factor, AMBE provided a bonus to all contractors who
continued to support production until the Tier 1 closed its doors
2. Showing commitment to work as a team by covering all three shifts – AMBE resources worked
together with contracted resources to ensure shifts were covered to keep the plant running 24 hours a
day
The Solution
AMBE was able to stabilize the work force by internally contracting key staff supplier resources to continue
running lines. Production rates for the OEM and Tier 1 were met, bank build was successfully completed,
and key people were retained. Lines were successfully transferred, AMBE was able to support the
receiving plant by setting up the lines.
